Kevin Campbell expects Cenk Tosun to have a huge season.

Former Everton striker Kevin Campbell is confident that Cenk Tosun is going to have a great season at Goodison Park this year.

The 27-year-old is the first-choice centre-forward under Marco Silva and has started the opening four Premier League matches.

He has picked up two assists for the unbeaten Toffees, but is still waiting for his first goal of the season.

Tosun has now returned from international duty with Turkey and is preparing for a home clash against West Ham in the league at the weekend.

Campbell believes it’s only a matter of time before the striker starts benefiting from service into the penalty area, with the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson, Theo Walcott and Richarlison teammates that can assist him.

“I’m sure Cenk Tosun is rubbing his hands together because with those players in midfield and out wide supplying him crosses, he’s going to be licking his lips,” Campbell told the club’s official website.

“He knows there’s going to be a lot more chances coming his way with this group of players.

“He is a good finisher and he hasn’t had a sustained supply line to know where his chances are going to come from.

“But he’s going to excel, I believe, when everyone beds in, and long may that continue. If he could get double figures, 15 or 20 goals, that would be great.”

Tosun made a decent start to his Everton career after joining in January, scoring five goals in 14 appearances in return during the second half of last season.

His task this year is now to try turn into a 15-plus goal striker for them and they are still waiting for somebody to fill the shoes of Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku.

Tosun proved at former club Besiktas he can be a prolific goalscorer in Turkey, but his challenge now is replicating that in England.
