Everton are reportedly after Ndiaye, despite the midfielder only joining Stoke in January.
Everton are reportedly interested in signing Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye just six months after he joined the Potters from Turkish side Galatasaray – and Toffees icon Kevin Campbell has welcomed a move.
Turkish outlet Fotomac claim Everton are interested in signing the 27-year-old powerhouse, who is currently in Russia with Senegal as they look to qualify for the World Cup’s knockout rounds from Group H.
The Toffees’ interest comes just hours after it had also been reported in Turkey by Fanatik that newly-promoted Wolves had tabled £22million to sign the energetic midfielder. Gala are also said to be keen on luring him back to Turkey on loan.
Campbell, who captained Everton during his six-year stay between 1999 and 2005, believes signing 17-time Senegal international Ndiaye “makes perfect sense” as he gave his reaction on Twitter.
Ndiaye impressed during his short time in the Premier League, making 13 appearances in England’s top flight and scoring two goals against Burnley and Swansea as well as laying on one assist.
He has a contract at Stoke until the summer of 2022 but following the Potters’ relegation into the Championship, Ndiaye could be sold to ease the wage bill at the Britannia, which could benefit Everton – or indeed Wolves and Gala.
