Leeds United made a number of signings in the summer transfer window.
Kevin Blackwell said on The Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds (broadcast from 6pm, September 16, 2016) that one or two of the Leeds United summer signings did not realise the size of the club.
Leeds were quite busy in the summer transfer window and brought in a number of new players.
Marcus Antonsson, Robert Green, Kemar Roofe, Billy Whitehouse, Luke Ayling, Liam Bridcutt, Eunan O’Kane, Romario Vieira and Conor Shaughnessy all moved to the West Yorkshire outfit on permanent contracts in the summer.
Kyle Bartley, Hadi Sacko, Matt Grimes, Pablo Hernandez, Pontus Jansson and Dario Meadows joined Leeds on loan.
Former Leeds manager Blackwell believes that one or two of the new players who joined Garry Monk’s side in the summer transfer window did not realise how big the club are.
Blackwell has also said that the new players should try to be consistent in their performances.
“I am sure one or two of the players that he (Monk) brought in didn’t realise how big the club Leeds were,” said Blackwell on The Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds (broadcast from 6pm, September 16, 2016). “They have got to settle down and start producing consistent performances.”
Leeds have not featured in the Premier League since 2004 and have become also-rans in the Championship.
However, there can be no denial that the West Yorkshire outfit are one of the biggest clubs in England.
Even in the Championship, the Whites regularly attract over 20,000 fans for their home matches at Elland Road.
