Everton are reportedly battling Tottenham Hotspur for the signature of Atalanta star Franck Kessie.
According to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are showing the most interest in signing Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie.
Kessie, 20, joined Atalanta from Stella Club in 2015, but spent last season on loan at Italian rivals Cesena, impressing with four goals in 38 games.
The Ivorian caught the eye at Cesena, and many were expecting big things as he made his return to Atalanta over the summer – and those people have not been disappointed.

Kessie has been a regular for Atalanta, and despite predominantly being a holding midfielder who can also play at centre back, the youngster has hit six goals in just 16 games in all competitions this season.
Unsurprisingly, Premier League clubs are now circling for Kessie’s signature – and it seems that Everton are now preparing to make their move for him in January.

Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Everton’s move to sign Kessie over the summer fell through due to him being ineligible for a work permit to play in England, but the Toffees and Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur are showing the most interest in him.
Kessie would fit the bill as a player to play alongside Idrissa Gueye in the heart of the Everton midfield, whilst he’d also fit well as as young player for Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino to develop behind Victor Wanyama.
The work permit issues remain, but should be resolved after Kessie has played for the Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations, meaning Everton and Tottenham can prepare their January moves for the player.
His participation in the Africa Cup of Nations doesn’t seem to be putting teams of moving for Kessie, and it’s stated that Arsenal and Liverpool are also making enquiries about the midfielder, whose athletic ability has earned him a major reputation in Italian football.
