Franck Kessie and Davide Petrucci were just some of the players reacting on Instagram to Pierluigi Gollini signing for Tottenham.
The 26-year-old, who has signed for Spurs on a loan deal from Atalanta, posted a heartfelt message to the supporters of the Serie A club after completing his switch to North London.
AC Milan’s Kessie responded to his message by posting “Good luck brother” added with a heart emoji, whilst former Manchester United youth product, Petrucci wrote that Gollini is a ‘top player’, as he urged him to ‘keep pushing’ and ‘keep conquering’.
For Gollini, he has tasted life in England before when he came through Manchester United’s ranks.
The Italian would then find himself on the doorsteps of Aston Villa in England’s second-tier following their relegation.
But, at the time, a raw Gollini struggled at Villa Park, but it showed character and strength from the player to go out of his comfort zone in such a pressured environment at such a young age.
But now, he is a different animal and he will be looking to push stalwart, Hugo Lloris, for that number one jersey next season.
With Gollin’s arrival, it’s going to be interesting to see what happens with Joe Hart’s future because it seems as though his career has taken yet another hit.
That’s surely him falling down the goalkeeping pecking order at Spurs because he will be behind both Lloris and Gollini now.
The former England international played in a sporadic fashion last season, but for most of the time, he was warming the bench and he might not even do that now.
