Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama got off to a bad start at the African Cup of Nations.

Kenyan fans are slating Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama’s display for them at the African Cup of Nations.
Wanyama is Kenya’s biggest star, so naturally a lot of attention is on the Tottenham man when he represents his country.
Things did not go to plan for the £11 million defensive midfielder (BBC Sport) yesterday though, as Kenya were beaten 2-0 by Algeria in their African Cup of Nations opener.
Wanyama couldn’t get involved in the game, as the Tottenham midfielder struggled to cope against Algeria’s attacking talents.
And the reaction to the Spurs man’s display on social media has not been positive.
And Wanyama’s performance yesterday for his country is unlikely to have convinced anyone at Tottenham that they would be making a mistake by letting him go.
