Former Arsenal defender felt Tottenham’s Kyle Walker
Former Arsenal defender Kenny Samson felt Kyle Walker should have done better at times for England against Holland.
Samson, a former England left-back who played at Euro 1988, criticised the Tottenham right-back’s crossing in the 2-1 loss, with Walker failing to find a teammate with any of his deliveries.
England lost the game 2-1, although to Walker’s credit he set up England’s goal with a neat pass to Leicester’s Jamie Vardy who scored from close range.
Samson hit out at Walker’s crossing ability, specifically his failure to beat the first man, suggesting it is a basic trait all international footballers should be able to accomplish.
Samson also had a little pop at Danny Rose, who gave away a penalty with a second half handball.
The Tottenham duo were certainly tested by the Dutch in the second half as England slipped to a 2-1 defeat, and losing is not a habit either of the full-backs have been used to feeling this season.
