Glasgow Rangers striker Kenny Miller wants long-term stay at Ibrox.
Rangers striker Kenny Miller has told The Scottish Sun that he wants to remain at the club beyond next season.
The former Celtic striker is in his third spell at Rangers at the moment and has a contract with the Gers until June 2017, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
“I want to be here and that’s not going to change,” Miller told The Scottish Sun. “I’d like to think the manager knows me well enough to know what I bring on and off the field. We will play it by ear and see how it goes.
“I bring energy to the team. When that stops I’m going to have to look at the way I’m contributing. But we have good sports science guys and I’m still doing all the same things and getting the same results as the other players. I still feel I’ll be able to play the way I want to play.”
Miller is 36 years of age, but he remains a very important player for Rangers.
The Scottish striker played an important role in the Gers’ automatic promotion to the Scottish Premiership at the end of last season.
The former Hibernian man will be determined to play regularly for Rangers in the Scottish top fight next season.
Miller has a lot of experience, and he will be a good role model for the younger players at Rangers.
Predicting whether the striker will be at Rangers in 2017-18 is not possible at the moment, but if he plays well next season and is fit, then Rangers should look into the prospect of keeping him at Ibrox at some capacity.
Rangers will be aiming to compete with Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title next season.
