Celtic hitman Odsonne Edouard has been in red-hot form this season as speculation about his future intensifies.
Kenny Miller has claimed that Celtic won’t find it hard to keep hold of their ‘outstanding’ talent Odsonne Edouard, who has been seemingly attracting interest from other clubs this season.
The Daily Record have claimed that Lazio, AS Roma, Napoli, Borussia Dortmund and Lyon are hoping to secure the signature of Celtic’s star man in January.
Edouard has stepped up for Celtic this season, as he found the back of the net once again over the weekend when Neil Lennon’s side cruised past Ross County by putting six past them at Parkhead.
Speaking to Sky Sports News (21/10/2019 12:15 pm), Miller praised how Edouard’s game is developing and thinks that Celtic can sit back and ‘demand’ a high price for their star man.
“I think the hard part for Celtic won’t be holding onto him,” Miller told Sky Sports. “They are in a position as you saw with the Kieran Tierney saga and Dembele that they can sit back and demand top, top dollar for their players.
“But there’s no doubt that he will be catching the eye of other teams because he is an outstanding young player. He’s getting better as each game go by. I think his all-round game is just so, so strong. His link-up is great, he’s got pace, he’s got a good size and physique about him. And he gets goals.
“As a young player, he’s doing it on the international level as well, as a young player he’s going to be catching the eyes of some big, big teams.”
It would be a surprise if Edouard were to part ways with Celtic this season, but in the back of Lennon’s mind, he will know that he may end up losing him at some point in the future, especially given the goals he is scoring.
Celtic eventually lost Moussa Dembele, who is now plying his trade in France, but he did stay for a number of seasons and help then-manager Brendan Rodgers be utterly dominant in Scotland.
If Edouard can stay at Parkhead for a number of seasons then he will run riot on teams, and those trophies will only continue to stack up.
