Kenny Miller has backed Rangers to respond well from their pre-season defeat to Burnley, in an interview with the club’s official website.
The veteran striker struggled as the Premier League new boys made their presence felt but Miller feels the difficult test will stand them in good stead for next weekend’s league opener.
“This will 100% make us better going into Hamilton, you can coast through the games that we have had so far, we have scored 10 goals, won four games and not conceded any,” said the 36-year old.

“You could go into Hamilton with a wee bit of false confidence to be honest but we know where we are, we are in a good place and really looking forward to next weekend.
“It was a really good workout, we knew it would be a test and obviously the result is very disappointing but as always we can take positives from that.”

The Gers’ pre-season preparation has been hampered by the fact that they have been unable to schedule friendlies against high quality opposition due to League Cup commitments.
Mark Warburton’s men have strolled through their previous encounters but they struggled against tough opposition today and he will be well aware that there is plenty of work to be done.

Miller was granted a rare start up front but failed to impose himself on a resolute Burnley backline. The former Celtic striker bagged 21 goals last season but is yet to get off the mark in this campaign and faces increased competition with the likes of Joe Dodoo joining the fray.
Warburton has admitted – in quotes published by the Daily Record – that he plans to add another striker to his ranks and Miller will have a real fight on his hands to feature regularly this campaign.
