Kenny Miller shares what was said in Rangers’ dressing room following defeat to Hamilton

Rangers’ form at Ibrox over the past few years has quite simply not been good enough.

Gers hitman Kenny Miller spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s bitterly disappointing 2-0 defeat at home to Hamilton Academicals yesterday, and shared what was said in the Ibrox dressing room immediately after the match, as quoted by the Sunday Post.

The Glasgow giants have endured a real rollercoaster of a campaign so far this season, and now sit in fourth position in the Scottish Premiership table, a full nine points adrift of league leaders and bitter rivals Celtic.

Graeme Murty has managed to steady the ship during his temporary spell in charge of Rangers, but there are undoubtedly still a whole host of problems at the club, both on the pitch and behind the scenes.

Miller, 37, has made 10 league appearances for the Gers this season scoring two goals, and it speaks volumes that the club the size of Rangers are still so heavily reliant upon someone well past his best physically.

That is not a slight on the Scottish striker – he always gives 110 per cent for his club every time that he plays, but it is inevitable that a time will come when he can no longer contribute in the manner that is deserving for a club with the Gers’ stature.

Miller spoke to reporters after his side’s defeat, labelling their performance as ‘unacceptable’, as quoted by the Sunday Post:

“Losing 2-0 at home to Hamilton is absolutely unacceptable and we know that. That’s been said in the dressing room. It’s the first time in 30 years we’ve lost to them at home, which is unacceptable. And our home form isn’t good enough. This place should be a fortress for us. Out of 19 home games, you want to be winning 16 and we’re nowhere near that.”

Next up for Rangers and Miller is a trip to Dundee on Friday night, and it might just represent a refreshing respite for the players, playing away from what could have been an extremely toxic Ibrox.
