Mark Warburton’s Glasgow Rangers side are unbeaten, but have already lost ground on their main rivals.
Rangers’ Kenny Miller
Kenny Miller has told the Evening Times that Rangers have shown what they are capable of at times this season, but their biggest problem has been maintaining their performance levels for the entirety of a game.
The Gers go into today’s Old Firm contest having taken eight points from their opening four games, with two wins and two draws coming so far in Mark Warburton’s side’s first campaign back in the Scottish Premiership.

However, despite the unbeaten start, they have struggled to stamp their authority on games, having gone behind in three of the four fixtures they have played.
And Miller thinks that if they hope to get a positive result against Celtic, they need to maintain their concentration levels for the full duration of a fixture.
“We have started slowly, a lot slower than we would have liked,” he told the Evening Times.
Rangers manager Mark Warburton
“I think you have seen in each of the four games how we can play and hurt teams, but it’s not been a sustained performance over the 90 minutes and that’s something we have to put right for the weekend.”
While there has been pressure on each game they have played this term – due to the expectation that the Light Blues will take little time to move into the title picture – there is a different pressure on them at Parkhead.

The bragging rights are at stake, but it is also an important game for the early stages of the title race. Rangers are currently one point adrift of their rivals and have played a game more, so defeat to the Hoops could lead to them falling seven points adrift once Brendan Rodgers’ men have played their game in hand.
But that pressure should arguably be exactly the kind of thing the Gers need to make sure that they maintain their performance levels throughout the contest.
