Rangers striker Kenny Miller has told The Scottish Sun that he and his teammates can hurt Celtic this coming weekend.

Mark Warburton’s side will take on Old Firm rivals Celtic at Hampden Park in the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup on Sunday afternoon.

The Gers will head into the match on the back of a narrow 1-0 victory over Inverness Caledonian Thistle away from home at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium in the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic have a better squad and a better team than Rangers do, and will head into the tie as favourites.

Moreover, Brendan Rodgers’s side hammered the Gers 5-1 at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership in September.

Rangers striker Miller, who had a spell at Celtic in 2006-07, believes that he and his teammates can get the better of the Bhoys.

“We know if we go into that game and play the way we play, we can hurt Celtic – there is no doubt about that,” Miller told The Scottish Sun.

“We have shown that in the past and shown in spells over the course of the season that if we play the way we can play, we can cause them problems.

“Will it be enough to win the game? Only time will tell – anything can happen in any game of football, but we will train well and prepare very well this week and we are going into it with a little bit of momentum. We are in a better place.”

Celtic hammered Rangers in September, and the Gers will have learned from the mistakes they made that day.

It is unlikely that Warburton’s side will suffer yet another 5-1 defeat, and perhaps they could even win and progress to the final of the Scottish League Cup.
