The veteran striker scored in Rangers’ excellent 4-0 win over Dundee.
Kenny Miller has been quoted by BBC Sport as saying that he may have to leave Rangers at the end of the season, as he plans on furthering his playing career.
The 38-year-old scored in Rangers’ 4-0 win over Neil McCann’s Dundee at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon, showing off his trademark predatory instinct by controlling before firing a well-placed effort past goalkeeper Elliot Parish.
However, the former Celtic striker’s contract ends at the end of the season and he may be forced to look for pastures new with the Gers yet to offer the versatile forward a new deal.
Miller, a 70-time Scotland international, stated that he wants to continue playing almost 18 years after he was handed his professional debut by Dick Advocaat against Monaco in November 2000 – but admitted that might not be at Rangers.
“Nothing has been discussed regarding my future,” Miller said. “Who knows what will happen at the club in the summer, so I’ll look after myself because I want to continue playing. I’ll stay focused on that.”
Miller has scored just five goals this season in 23 league and cup outings, after missing a large chunk of the 2017-18 season with a long-term hamstring injury that kept him out for more than two months.
The Gers boast plenty of fire power after converting Josh Windass into a striker, with Alfredo Morelos, Jason Cummings, Eduardo Herrera and Ryan Hardie all able to play in the final third. The competition sees Miller as little more than a fringe player.
It remains to be seen if Miller will be offered new terms at Ibrox, but focus switches to Sunday’s Old Firm clash against bitter rivals Celtic in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup.
