Kenny Miller is optimistic that he can build an understanding with Glasgow Rangers teammate Alfredo Morelos, who has made a bright start to life at Ibrox.

Kenny Miller has told Rangers’ official website that his understanding with Alfredo Morelos needs work following their defeat to Hibernian at the weekend, but insisted that the pair’s partnership will blossom the longer they are working together.

Morelos’ two starts since the domestic season begun have inspired contrasting emotions for the Gers, with his full debut seeing him bag a brace in the 6-0 League Cup thrashing of Dunfermline, while the club’s most recent clash ended in a disappointing home defeat to Hibernian.

Morelos has certainly shown some positive signs in those two games, scoring three times. But Miller has stressed that not everything has been perfect going forward, however there is definitely reason to be extremely positive.

“Alfredo is coming on; he is a young lad who has made a big impact in the last two games getting three goals,” he told the club’s official website after the clash with Hibs.

“It is about getting to know each other, that chance where I put the ball over the keeper I am looking for my partner to be there.

“That understanding will no doubt come but we have options in the front area with Alfredo, Eduardo and also Josh can go up there as well.”

After a league season where finding the back of the net appeared to be an issue for the Gers – Miller finished as their top goalscorer in the top flight with 11 strikes – it will certainly be extremely encouraging for Pedro Caixinha that Morelos, in particular, appears to have settled so well.

And with Miller frequently putting many of his teammates to shame with his performances last term – despite being one of the oldest members of the squad – there is surely no better player for the Colombian summer signing to learn from as he looks to build upon his excellent start.
