The Glasgow Rangers striker has been looking to the future.
Rangers player Kenny Miller has been speaking to reporters ahead of his side’s clash against Aberdeen, with his comments published on the Gers’ official Twitter account.
Rangers have struggled in recent weeks, losing their last two matches despite an earlier upturn in form following Pedro Caixinha’s dismissal and the appointment of interim coach Graeme Murty.
For now the youth coach remains in charge at Ibrox and it is up to the players he picks for the double-header against Aberdeen to prove their worth, having under-performed against both Hamilton Academical and Dundee earlier this month.
When asked about Rangers’ situation, Miller said, “I have my ideas on what could change, as I’m sure a lot of the lads do.”
It was an interesting comment, suggesting that the forward has thought long and hard about the current ominous situation at the club.
First and foremost, players like Miller need to up their game, and only then will Rangers return to winning ways on a consistent basis.
There is also the prospect of new faces arriving in January, once a new permanent boss has been appointed, but Miller admitted that would not solve all the club’s problems.
“Not everything will be solved in the upcoming transfer window but the manager needs to come in and assess what he’s got,” Miller added.
“If we can strengthen in January then we need to get better.”
