Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have signed eight players this summer, but only one speaks English as a first language.
Kenny Miller has admitted to the Daily Record that there’s one small issue with Rangers new signings – the prospect of a language barrier.
Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha has brought eight new players into Ibrox this summer.
Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack, Daniel Canedias, Dalcio, Fabio Cardoso, Carlos Pena, Eduardo Herrera and Alfredo Morelos have all joined, but Jack, the Scottish midfielder signed from Aberdeen, is the only signing whose native langugage is English.
The rest are either Portuguese, Mexican or Colombian and the Gers’ legendary striker believes that problems could arise regarding communication in the early stages of their stints in Glasgow.
He told The Record: “The only small issue we have got is the language, which I’m sure will be addressed over the course of the season.
“Communication is huge, particularly playing in an environment with 50,000 people cheering you on. It can be so noisy you can barely hear yourself think, never mind what others are saying.
“So you do need to be able to communicate with your team-mate next to you and that is something that will probably have to get better as the season goes on.”
Rangers kick off their season tonight as Caixinha’s side host Progres Niederkorn in the first leg of a first-round Europa League qualifier.
Miller is right with regards to communication, but hopefully for them the new lads can let their ability do the talking and prove themselves fine assets for the club.
