Steven Gerrard’s Rangers won the title yesterday, and that has put Celtic in a rather awkward position.
Celtic’s failure to win against Dundee United on Sunday saw their bitter Old Firm rivals Rangers confirmed as the Scottish Premiership champions.
The next game for Rangers is against Celtic at Celtic Park later this month. The question that many will ask is whether the Hoops will give the Gers a guard of honour in the Old Firm derby.
As reported by The Scottish Sun in February 2021, Rangers chose not to give Celtic a guard of honour when the teams met at Ibrox in May 2019.
Kenny Miller played for both Celtic and Rangers, and the Scotsman was asked the question about guard of honour on talkSPORT today.
Miller said on talkSPORT (10:27am, March 8, 2021) when asked about Celtic giving Rangers a guard of honour: “These are things that are left for clubs to make decisions. Listen, I don’t think it will make a difference to Rangers, the Rangers players or the staff or the club one little bit.
“They have got over the line, they have won the title, that’s all that matters. How Celtic want to approach it that’s up to them.”

Should Celtic give Rangers a guard of honour?
One suspects that the Celtic players will not like giving Rangers the guard of honour.
Some Celtic fans are already against it, but the Bhoys are a massive club who will show class and perhaps decide to give Rangers the guard of honour.
Celtic will know that Rangers have been much better than them this season, but the Bhoys will be determined to reclaim the title in 2021-22.
