Dean Smith quickly brought Andre Green back to Aston Villa after taking over from Steve Bruce.

Green was sent out on loan by Villa to Portsmouth at the start of last season, but Dean Smith quickly brought him back to Villa Park after taking charge.
The youngster went on to play a key role as Villa earned promotion from the Championship.
But Jackett has revealed that Villa were not planning to bring the winger back when Bruce was at the club.
“In the case of Green, I think if the manager hadn’t changed they wouldn’t have called him back during the second half of the season,” the Pompey boss revealed earlier today.

The comments should now embarrass Bruce, as Green proved he was capable of playing a role for Villa last term.
Green made 18 appearances for Villa over the back end of the campaign, and leaving him out on loan would have been a huge error from Bruce.
Thankfully Smith recalled him, and Green could now have a key role to play for Villa next season, with a manager now in charge who is clearly a big fan of his talents.
