Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Joe Mason’s initial loan at Portsmouth is due to expire next month.
Mason’s initial loan at Pompey is set to last until January, but Kenny Jackett wants to extend it.
The Portsmouth manager is keen for the Wolves forward to stick around at Fratton Park.
However, Mason has barely featured for Portsmouth so far this season, and there are complications over the deal.
Jackett admits that Mason is growing frustrated with his lack of action and Wolves may also want the striker to get more game time elsewhere.
“Joe’s loan is up and obviously he will be frustrated because he would want the chance and the opportunity,” Jackett said.
“I would like to keep him, I have been impressed and I do like Joe, but similarly he has come here to get games. We will get to January and assess it.”
Mason appears to have little future at Wolves, if he does return to Molineux next month.
The striker has a great deal of competition for places at Wolves, and his failure to get regular games in League One is unlikely to have impressed Nuno.
