Aston Villa youngster Andre Green was selected to start up-front in Portsmouth’s last match.

Villa youngster Green was selected to start as a striker in Pompey’s match against Blackpool at the weekend, but he never really got involved in the game.
Jackett’s side fell to a surprising 1-0 defeat in the contest, with Green failing to make much of an impact.
But Jackett has defended the Villa loanee and insists that he still can play a role as a striker this season.
“He definitely can (bounce back),” Jackett said. ‘We’ve been working on ways to get Green into the team, because he’s made a very good contribution.
“At Norwich he came on and looked quite a natural in that position. It didn’t quite work out for him this time around. It was a frustrating day. But getting into the game on a consistent basis in League One is a difficult thing to do.”

Smith is said to be considering bringing Green back, as the Villa forward is regarded as a very bright talent back at the Midlands club.
Green has had a difficult time at Portsmouth so far, as he has been hampered by injury.
However, it looks as if he could have an important role to play in the second half of the season, as Pompey push for promotion, if he does stick around at Fratton Park.
