Aston Villa loanee Andre Green is working his way back to full fitness after a difficult start to life with the League One side.

In comments reported by Portsmouth News, Kenny Jackett has suggested that he is extremely excited to have Aston Villa loanee Andre Green back in his ranks in the near future, insisting that the winger has the potential to frighten defenders.
Green arrived at Portsmouth on loan during the summer transfer window, but only managed to make a couple of appearances before undergoing a knee operation that has ruled him out since early September.
However, Green is edging closer to returning to the Pompey side, and Jackett suggested that he is looking forward to having the youngster fully fit as he could cause some serious problems.
“For him, hopefully he can put the niggles and injury problems behind him and make a big impression at Portsmouth. I am sure he is determined to do that. Considering the way we play with wingers, wingers that can go one-v-one and beat people, Andre has that power in abundance and his pace can frighten people. That’s the reason we brought him here,” he said, as reported by Portsmouth News.

“We want to give him the service, which first and foremost any forward player needs. If we can give him regular service in their half with either balls into feet or into space, he can handle both. In terms of opposition defences in League One, we feel he can go past people, give them problems and create and score goals for us. That was the idea when we brought him in.”
The 20-year-old is returning while Portsmouth find themselves in a fantastic position in the League One table. They currently sit three points clear at the top and have won four and drawn two of their last six games.

Their position should help Green as he looks to recover from a disappointing start and enjoy the kind of loan spell that catches Villa’s eye ahead of his return to his parent club.
Pompey will be looking to control the majority of games they play, so Green should have a lot of opportunities to prove that he is as frightening as Jackett suggests.
