Former Wolves manager Kenny Jackett has been speaking about his exit from the club this summer, insisting there is no ill feeling regarding the manner in which he lost his job.

This summer saw Wolves taken over by the Chinese consortium Fosun International. Jackett’s job was immediately thrust into doubt and eventually, at the end of July, he was relieved of his duties as Wolverhampton Wanderers manager.

Jackett would have obviously been upset about the decision but speaking on Channel 5’s The Championship goal show he seemed content with the way his position at Molineux was handled and that he was now waiting for his next opportunity to get back into the game:

“You know when clubs get taken over what’s likely to happen and when it did it wasn’t a surprise.

“What I would say is that the people who I worked for were very honest with me.

“Wolves is a great club and I enjoyed my three years there.

“Three years is a good stint for me and certainly a good stint in modern day management. Now, I’m just looking for the next challenge.”

Jackett spent three years at Wolves and got them back into the Championship in 2014. However, toward the end of his time at the club fans at Molineux had become increasingly frustrated with the style of play at Wolves and a lack of results.

Walter Zenga has come in to replace him at Molineux and, after a 1-1 draw with rivals Aston Villa yesterday, they currently sit 12th in the Championship table.
