Walter Zenga was given just 14 games in charge of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Kenny Jackett has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on 26th October, that he can sympathise with former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Walter Zenga.

Jackett lost his job at Wolves last summer and he was replaced by Zenga, but the Italian only lasted at Molineux for 14 matches.

Wolves made a disappointing start the new campaign, despite a big investment in the summer.

And Jackett admits that the new found wealth that Wolves have, means that any manager who takes charge of the Midlands club has to deal with extreme pressure.

“You look at the inside of the club, and you never know how relationships are, but from the outside it seems like things built up quickly on him,” Jackett said. “You always feel for other managers when that happens.

“It’s tough if you’re under that type of pressure that quickly. Having said that, Wolves spent a lot of money and a lot of those players have taken time to settle.”

Wolves are currently in 18th place in the Championship table, after winning just four of their first 14 matches this term.

Wolves have failed to pick up a victory in any of their last five matches, and ultimately a defeat against Leeds United cost Zenga his job.

As things stand Dougie Freedman is the bookies’ favourite to take over at Wolves, with Sam Allardyce and Marco Silva also considered contenders.
