Former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Kenny Jackett has been commenting on the sides hopes of promotion this season.

In the summer Wolves were taken over by the Fosun International group. The Chinese consortium decided to change the manager – with Italian Walter Zenga taking over from Jackett.

The club also made several new signings. The likes of Ivan Cavaleiro, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Romain Saiss were all brought in by Wolves – who also attempted to bring in big names such as Anderson Talisca and Luisao.

Yesterday Wolves drew 1-1 with rivals Aston Villa at Villa Park. It was a game they will feel they should have won and speaking on Channel 5’s Championship goal show yesterday (15/10/16) Jackett made it clear that he feels Wolves are in the promotion hunt:

“They’ve signed 12 players in six weeks which shows great intention from the owners. I don’t think they’ll stop there I think they will keep going.

“Looking at them today they played very well and I think it’s going to click for them.”

Consistency has been a big issue for Wolves this season which is why they are currently sitting in 12th position in the Championship and not higher up the table.

There is plenty of talent there but the club need time to blend considering the new players that have arrived at the club this summer.

If they can do that before the end of the season than Wolves might just put in a promotion challenge.
