Do Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic need to make too many signings in the summer transfer window?
Scottish premiership giants Celtic, who are aiming to progress to the group stage of the Champions League this season, have made two signings so far in the summer transfer window.
The Hoops have secured the services of 29-year-old winger Jonny Hayes from Scottish Premiership rivals Aberdeen.
The Glasgow giants have also signed 19-year-old midfielder Kundai Benyu following the youngster’s departure from Ipswich Town.
Celtic legend Dalglish has explained why the Celtic Park faithful should not be concerned about the Glasgow giants’ lack of spending so far in the summer transfer window.

“There will be some Celtic supporters who feel there hasn’t been enough big-name transfer activity at their club during this transfer window,” Dalglish wrote in The Sunday Post. “However, there are many reasons for them not to be concerned.
“The bottom line is that spending £4-5million on a player doesn’t guarantee success. And, more importantly, the wages for guys in that price range are often huge, and that will be a massive obstacle for the club to overcome.
“So, if you target a player who costs millions and millions to buy from another club, you then have to look at adding on another few million pounds for a four-year contract.
“Is a total package in the region of £12-14 million good business for Celtic? And, let’s be totally honest, would any player in that price range be guaranteed to get in the starting line-up just now?”
Celtic have the best squad in the Scottish Premiership, and they should win the league title with ease again next season.
Given the quality of players that manager Rodgers has in his team, it is not easy to find players who can make the squad better.
What is important for Celtic at the moment is to prepare well for the Champions League qualifiers.
