The Liverpool legend has backed the new Rangers winger to provide ‘something special’ at Ibrox this season.

The Gers pulled off a stunning late, but permanent, move for the 22-year-old on deadline day. It’s been reported he cost the Ibrox side as much as £7m (BBC).
That’s a huge fee in Scottish football terms and the first time for years that Rangers have made such a move.
It comes with its own pressures, but Daglish thinks that Steven Gerrard has picked up an exciting talent.
As quoted by The Sunday Post, he said: “They will be delighted to have got Ryan Kent on board.
“He has cost them a hefty transfer fee from Liverpool, but he is a fine talent and can give the team something special. He is a match-winner.”

Is Kent the missing piece of the Rangers puzzle?
Looking at the recent game against Celtic, it was obvious what Gerrard’s side were missing.
With no real width or ability to carry the ball in the team, the Hoops were winning back possession far too easily and were largely not threatened in their weakest areas of pitch.
Kent has already proven he can provide that kind of presence in the big derby matches.
The big problem the former Liverpool man has is finding consistency and upping his attacking contribution over the course of an entire season.
For £7m, Rangers will be expecting more than the six goals he managed on loan last term.
Dalglish is right though, he is capable of those special moments that could win Rangers points.
Gerrard needs as many players able to do that in his team as possible.
