Rangers boss Steven Gerrard recently threatened to replace his Ibrox stars.

Liverpool and Scotland legend Kenny Dalglish has told The Sunday Post that he thinks Steven Gerrard’s comments after the 1-0 defeat to Aberdeen were ‘quite right’.
The Gers fell flat in the Betfred Cup semi-final against Aberdeen last Sunday, as they were toothless in attack, and were hit with the sucker punch when Lewis Ferguson headed home the winner for Aberdeen.
Rangers let the chance of a cup final against Celtic slip through their grasp, and much was made of manager Gerrard’s comments after the final whistle.
Gerrard suggested that his players needed to step up and provide big moments in big games, otherwise he will replace them with players who will provide what Rangers need.
Gerrard didn’t exactly get a response in the 1-1 draw against Kilmarnock, and even Saturday’s 2-0 win over St Mirren wasn’t entirely convincing.
Some are worried that Gerrard’s comments have dented the confidence of his players rather than inspired them, and feel he was too harsh in the aftermath of just a third defeat in all competitions.

Now, former Liverpool and Scotland hero Dalglish has offered his view, and has suggested that Gerrard was right to say what he said, backing the Rangers boss by saying it’s ‘what a manager needs to do’ whilst adding that the players must respond positively to stay at the club.
“In the past week, he has challenged his players to do better and achieve more,” said Dalglish. “If they don’t, he has told them he will look to replace them in January. That’s quite right. It’s what a manager needs to do. It’s up to them to respond positively and in the right manner,” he added.
