Liverpool have signed Andrew Robertson from Hull City in the summer transfer window.

Celtic legend Kenny Dalglish has suggested in The Sunday Post that Andrew Robertson will be a success at Liverpool.

Premier League club Liverpool have signed Robertson from Championship outfit Hull in the summer transfer window.

According to BBC Sport, the Reds had to pay the Tigers a transfer fee of £8 million in order to secure the services of the 23-year-old left-back.

The Scotland international is a very good left-back and played well for Hull in the Premier League during the 2016-17 campaign.

Celtic and Liverpool legend Dalglish has backed Robertson to be a success at Anfield.

“Jurgen Klopp completed what looked to be a really good piece of business at the end of the week when he signed the 23-year-old full-back from Hull City for a fee, by all accounts, in the region of £8m,” Dalglish wrote in The Sunday Post about Robertson.

“From what I’ve seen of the young man, I think he will do well at Anfield. He is a left-sided defender and can operate as an out-and-out full-back or as a left wing-back.

“He likes to attack down the flanks and link up with the players in front of him to get crosses into the box.”

“Andrew is, I’m told, a level-headed boy and a good professional,” added Dalglish. “He is also the type of player who has the enthusiasm and ability that will be appreciated by the Liverpool supporters.

“They are very fair and give every player their backing. So, Andrew has to believe in himself and enjoy this fantastic opportunity he has been given.”

Liverpool needed to sign a left-back in the summer transfer window, as relying on James Milner to do the job for another season would not have been wise.

Milner is a midfielder by trade, and although the Englishman played well at left-back during the 2016-17 campaign, he could not have been expected to do it all over again next season, especially if Liverpool progress to the group stage of the Champions League.
