Neil Warnock sent a number of his first team fringe players to get game time with the Development side on Monday evening.

Under-23s manager Kevin Nicholson had the likes of Kenneth Zohore, Emyr Huws, Kadeem Harris and Declan John to choose from for the visit of Crystal Palace Development.

Danish striker Kenneth Zohore stole the show, scoring twice to help his team onto a 3-0 victory and to show Neil Warnock what he can do.

Zohore was a threat all evening, causing the young Palace defence all manner of problems at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Out-of-sorts striker Frederic Gounongbe also managed to get on the score-sheet but saw his second half cut short by an injury.

Welsh international midfielder Emyr Huws also stood out and managed to provide a couple of assists.

Huws hasn’t been able to secure a spot in the starting Since the arrival of Neil Warnock but this impressive performance, along with a good showing in a 55-minute training match may bring him into contention.

Declan John is another who has struggled to secure a starting spot, despite featuring heavily under Paul Trollope during his unsuccessful reign.

The Welsh international looked lively for the under-23s, as did Kadeem Harris who has appeared from the bench a number of times under Neil Warnock this season.

Star defender Bruno Ecuele-Manga and Lex Immers also started on Monday evening, looking to stake a claim for a spot in Warnock’s first team at the weekend.
