Kenedy joined Newcastle United on loan from Chelsea in the January transfer window.

Kenedy of Newcastle United celebrates after the Premier League match between Newcastle United and Southampton at St. James Park on March 10, 2018 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.

According to The London Evening Standard, Newcastle United want to secure the services of Kenedy on a permanent contract from Chelsea in the summer of 2017.

The 22-year-old, who can operate as a winger or as a left-back, joined Newcastle on loan from Premier League rivals Chelsea in the January transfer window.

According to The Mirror, the Magpies will have to pay a transfer fee of £15m to the Blues in order to make Kenedy’s loan move permanent.

Kenedy has made only a handful of appearances for the Chelsea first team, and given his impact at St. James’ Park already, it would make sense for the Brazilian to make his move to Newcastle permanent.

However, Kenedy should not rush into making a decision just yet. What the Brazilian should do is go back to Chelsea, have pre-season with the Blues, and see how things go in the first half of the 2018-19 campaign.

After all, the chance of playing for a big and ambitious club like Chelsea does not come too often, and the Brazilian should not squander away the opportunity he has prematurely by rushing into signing a permanent contract with Newcastle.
