Newcastle earned a 2-0 win over Irish side St. Patrick’s Athletic on Tuesday evening.

Newcastle United’s newest signing Kenedy returned to Rafa Benitez’s side on Tuesday night by coming as a substitute at half-time during the Magpies’ 2-0 win over St. Patrick’s Athletic – and he posted on Instagram after the match.
Rafa Benitez named youngsters Victor Fernandez, Josef Yarney and Sean Longstaff in his starting line-up to face the Irish side, and the latter broke the deadlock with a fine finish from 15 yards out.
At the break, Benitez brought on nine new players including new signing Kenedy, who hit the crossbar during the second half before Christia Atsu scored Newcastle’s second from the penalty spot.
Kenedy posted three photos on Instagram after the win, as he returned to don the black and white stripes of Newcastle for the first time since re-signing on a season-long loan with The Toon.
Kenedy is one of three new signings at Newcastle, with goalkeeper Martin Dubravka signing a permanent deal while South Korea captain Ki Sung-yeung has joined the club on a free transfer from Swansea City.
Newcastle have now returned to the north east ahead of their second pre-season clash against Championship side Hull City on Tuesday, before taking on Augsburg and FC Porto before the season starts.
