Newcastle United are set to sign Chelsea youngster Kenedy in the January transfer window.

Newcastle have reportedly agreed a deal to bring the Brazilian to St. James’ Park as soon as the transfer window re-opens, with Rafael Benitez looking to strengthen his squad.
Kenedy has been a long term target for Newcastle, with the Magpies making their first move to sign the Brazilian last summer.

At that time the transfer fell through, but Newcastle have acted quickly to sign Kenedy at the next opportunity.
The 21-year-old can play anywhere down the left-hand side, but it seems most likely that he will play at left-back, if he makes the switch to Newcastle.
The Magpies have badly struggled defensively this season, with Javier Manquillo Benitez’s first choice left-back so far.

Manquillo has made 15 Premier League appearances to date, but his future at Newcastle looks uncertain, if Kenedy does arrive.
Paul Dummett is set to return from injury soon, and Kenedy could well become first-choice left-back.
It means that Manquillo could go from being part of Benitez’s starting line-up to dropping to third choice next month, and that may leave the Spaniard’s days numbered at St. James’ Park.
