Leeds United’s Kemar Roofe has been linked with a move to Rangers who will be battling Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title next season.

Rangers could be making a statement to their bitter rivals Celtic as they have been touted to make a move for Leeds United’s Kemar Roofe this summer.
The Scottish Sun have claimed that Rangers are interested in signing the Leeds man as they could replace him with current troublemaker Alfredo Morelos if he is sold.
If Rangers can pull off a deal for Roofe then it would be a real coup for the Glasgow club, and it would give them an edge over their Scottish Premiership rivals Celtic.
Last season, Roofe scored 14 goals [transfermarkt] for a Leeds team that narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League, as he showed huge improvements under the very demanding Marcelo Bielsa.
If Roofe can hit those numbers in England’s second tier, added with his ability to play all across the front three then he is more than capable of hitting 20+ for Rangers next term.
Whilst Morelos hit high numbers during the previous campaign, his constant sending offs disrupted the flow of the team, and in the end, he proved to be more of a problem rather than a help to the team.

Roofe doesn’t fall into that category and he’ll be more of a team player than Morelos currently is, which will only help Steven Gerrard add that much-needed consistency he is craving for.
If that does happen then it would make them very dangerous in their race to beat Celtic for the Premiership title, and it could even be argued that Roofe would be the best forward in Scotland if he were to make a switch up north.
Either way, a potential signing like this will only lift the spirits further for Rangers and increase their chances of winning some silverware next term.
