His appointment is generally being considered a good one from Leeds fans, who have been impressed with his good form at their Yorkshire rivals.

But one player who will have mixed feelings about Heckingbottom could be Leeds United attacker Kemar Roofe. He has some Wembley heartache under his belt, which came courtesy of the new Leeds bosses former club Barnsley.
In April 2016 Barnsley took on Oxford United in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and Heckingbottom’s side emerged victorious. They won 3-2 as Oxford could not get the better of Barnsley in the home of English football.

Roofe was the star of that Oxford team but struggled to have an impact against the Tykes and ended up tasting defeat.
He left Oxford that summer, heading to Leeds where he has steadily improved and become a consistent player in the Leeds first-team.
Now he will hope that Heckingbottom can get the best out of him at Elland Road.
