Leeds United attacker Kemar Roofe desperate to get back on the scoresheet.
Kemar Roofe of Leeds United
Kemar Roofe signed for Leeds United from Oxford last summer on the back of a 25 goal season.
He has found the step up two divisions difficult by comparison, scoring just twice.
Roofe is entering his fourth consecutive month without a goal, with his last strike coming in late December, 15 consecutive matches.
The lack of goals is apparently weighing on the attacker, who sent a message out on Instagram expressing his desire to soon be celebrating again.
Competition for places nudged Roofe out of Leeds’ latest starting XI, and he was used merely as a late substitute against Reading at the weekend, having also missed the win against Brighton.
He can’t correct his goal drought if he isn’t on the pitch, so his first step is to earn a recall for Tuesday night’s visit to Brentford.
With this being Leeds’ second game in four days, Roofe will hope Garry Monk rotates his squad accordingly to give him a chance. He certainly seems driven and motivated to make an impact.
