Leeds striker Roofe won the Player of the Month award for August.

Kemar Roofe has given insight into what training during the international break is like under new manager Marcelo Bielsa, as Leeds United continue their preparations for next weekend’s clash against bitter rivals Millwall.

The 25-year-old has begun the season in exhilarating form, scoring four goals and creating another two strikes in his opening six outings for the Whites – including a brace against Derby County.

The former West Bromwich Albion and Oxford United forward is keeping new signing Patrick Bamford out of the side despite the latter’s big-money move to Elland Road from Middlesbrough.

Bielsa is known for his intense training sessions that saw players do double, even triple training sessions in pre-season. Roofe described the international break as like “pre-season 2.0” on Instagram, as Bielsa keeps his players on their toes.

Leeds currently sit at the top of the Championship, with Roofe playing an integral part in the Whites gaining 14 points from their opening six games – which has included four wins and two draws.

Bielsa is yet to lose in England’s second tier since taking over from Paul Heckingbottom this summer, but a trip to The Den to face Millwall is likely to see form fly out of the window.
