Kemar Roofe is well on course to have a stunning individual season with Leeds United.
Kemar Roofe scored his seventh Championship goal of the season for Leeds United on Sunday.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side edged out Wigan Athletic 2-1 at The DW Stadium, with Roofe netting in the 46th minute for what turned out to be the winner.
The 25-year-old, a £3 million signing by Garry Monk in 2016 [Yorkshire Post], looks reborn under Bielsa and, at this rate, Roofe is on course to smash his previous haul for the Whites.
In fact, the former Oxford United star, who scored 11 league goals last season, is only four away from equalling last season’s total, and doing it before December would be nothing short of unbelievable.
If he can match his previous best haul, with six months left in the season, then it would illustrate just how far he has come since Bielsa took over from Paul Heckingbottom during the summer.
United have three more games this month – away to West Brom this weekend, and then home to Bristol City and Reading – and you certainly can’t bet against Roofe, who has scored in each of Leeds’ last three games, getting four from those outings.
