The Leeds United striker has missed two months of the season recently.
Kemar Roofe has admitted that his spell on the sidelines made him appreciate just how good Leeds United were.
Roofe is only back from a two-month absence with a knee injury and is in contention to start Leeds’ visit of Wigan Athletic on Friday.
The 26-year-old has been forced to spectate in recent months and the former Oxford United star, a £3 million signing in 2016 [Yorkshire Post], has learned that he wouldn’t want to face Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
He told a press conference, via BBC West Yorkshire Sport, when asked what he had learned from his injury: “The main thing I learned was that I wouldn’t want to play against us.
“We don’t let the opposition rest. If the ball goes out of play, we put it back in straight away. If we get a foul, we put it back in straight away. It’s non-stop. Relentless.
Roofe is still Leeds’ top goalscorer this season with 14 and he’ll be desperate to add to that haul over the next few weeks.
The Whites only have four Championship games to go, so it’s a good time for the United hitman to be coming back.
Patrick Bamford is likely to continue up front in Friday’s visit of the Latics, but having a fit and hungry Roofe as a back-up is very, very beneficial.
