Kemar Roofe hints he’s closing in on Leeds return with Instagram post

Kemar Roofe has been injured since Leeds United’s victory over Swansea last month.

Kemar Roofe has seemingly hinted that he is closing in on making his return to the Leeds United lineup by suggesting on Instagram that he is starting to see the light.

Roofe has been out of action since sustaining a knee injury in the 2-1 win against Swansea City last month. The forward actually made it through the entire 90 minutes on that night at Elland Road, but pictures began to emerge in the days after the game showing Roofe wearing a knee brace.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reported that Leeds were optimistic that Roofe would make his return before the campaign concluded, and it was likely to be weeks on the sidelines rather than months.

In comments reported by Leeds Live, Marcelo Bielsa gave little away when he was asked about the 26-year-old’s recovery during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Whites’ trip to Reading, but did suggest that he was improving nicely.

And Roofe has now gone and whetted the appetite for his return even further by posting a slightly cryptic Instagram post that seems to hint that his comeback may not be too far away…

Patrick Bamford has stepped up in Roofe’s absence, with four goals coming in his last four appearances for the automatic-promotion chasers. Meanwhile, Tyler Roberts’s display in the 4-0 victory against West Brom earlier this month will go down as one of the standout displays from this campaign.

Nevertheless, having Roofe back will be a huge boost for Leeds. The knock that Bamford picked up at the weekend reminded everyone of how precarious the situation could be. And although Roofe has got some work to do to get his shirt back, there is no question that Bielsa will be looking to him to have a major say in the remaining weeks of the campaign.
