Former Nottingham Forest star Oliver Burke has joined Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic on loan from West Bromwich Albion.

Burke started his professional club football career at Forest and earned a big move to RB Leipzig in Germany in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £13 million.
After a good start to life in the Bundesliga, the Scotland international failed to hold onto his place and joined West Bromwich Albion in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £15 million.
The 21-year-old winger has failed to establish himself in the Baggies’ starting lineup and has joined Celtic on loan in the January transfer window.
Former Celtic central defender Wilson played with Burke at Forest, and he has admitted his surprise at the Scotland international winger failing to push on since his departure from the Reds.

Wilson told The Herald about Burke: “I have been very surprised he hasn’t pushed on. When he got his big move to Leipzig I thought they were so keen on him they would play him.
“Obviously it didn’t work out for him there. When he went to West Brom I thought he would play. But it didn’t happen again for whatever reason.”
Succeeding at Celtic
Burke is a very talented and promising young winger, and given Celtic manager Rodgers’s track record with youngsters, perhaps the Scotland international will be back to his best at Celtic Park in the coming weeks and months.
