Jack Harrison produced a moment of brilliance as Leeds United seized the advantage in their play-off semi-final.

Leeds United's Jack Harrison crosses under pressure from Derby County's Jayden Bogle to assist Kemar Roofe's goal

Keith Andrews told Sky Sports’ live post-match coverage of Leeds’ play-off semi-final first-leg tie with Derby (broadcast on 11/5 from 17:00) that Jack Harrison’s assist for the winning goal was out of this world as Marcelo Bielsa’s side took a narrow advantage into Wednesday’s second-leg.

Leeds won a cagey first-leg 1-0 at Pride Park, with the winner proving to be one of just three attempts on target from the entire game – all of which came from the visitors.

And it was a piece of magic that set Kemar Roofe up for the decisive goal. Stuart Dallas and Harrison played some good football down the left flank, before the Manchester City loanee unleashed a sumptuous pass that curled round the back of the Derby’s defence and into Roofe’s path.

The Whites top goalscorer found the bottom corner with a first-time effort. And while Andrews praised the striker’s finish, he suggested that Harrison’s assist was the real outstanding piece of brilliance from the visitors.

“It was really good play down the left hand side,” he told Sky Sports. “They were dangerous down there. I thought the ball was absolutely out of this world so we can’t take anything away from that perspective.

“It’s phenomenal, the ball in, the composure. Quality finish.”

Harrison has come in for a lot of criticism during his time at Elland Road. The Leeds fans know how good he can be, but he has arguably not produced the goods often enough for Bielsa’s side, and can go missing in games.

But all of that will be forgotten if that proves to be the goal that takes Leeds to Wembley, and he could write his name into folklore if he can make a similar impact should the Whites find themselves in the final.
