Mateusz Klich has confidence in his new Leeds United teammate Eddie Nketiah.

Keith Andrews suggested on Sky Sports Main Event (12:37pm, August 10, 2019) that Leeds United deadline-day signing Eddie Nketiah is not ready to replace Kemar Roofe in the team.

Leeds signed Nketiah on loan from Premier League club Arsenal on transfer deadline day.

The 20-year-old forward has been signed by the Championship outfit as a replacement for striker Roofe, who left the Whites for Belgian club Anderlecht this summer.

Former Wolverhampton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers defensive midfielder Andrews has doubts over Nketiah replacing Roofe, who scored 15 goals and provided two assists in the Championship last season and scored 11 goals and provided three assists in the league during the 2017-18 campaign, according to WhoScored.

Leeds midfielder Mateusz Klich, though, has full confidence in his new teammate Nketiah.

Andrews said about Nketiah on Sky Sports Main Event (12:37pm, August 10, 2019): “I think it’s a big call. There’s no doubt that he has got a huge talent, huge promise, showed last year in the Europa League, little glimpses, but playing here in a team that wants to get automatic promotion, can he really hit the ground running and fill the void left by Kemar Roofe? I am not so sure.”

Klich told The Yorkshire Evening Post about Nketiah: “One hundred per cent, he is good. He is from the Premier League so he has to be good so I don’t worry about it.”

Keeping faith

Nketiah is quite inexperienced, and it is going to be tough for the Arsenal-owned forward to hit the ground running at Leeds.

However, the Elland Road faithful should trust Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa and in his ability to improve young and promising players.
