Gary Hooper is leaving Sheffield Wednesday when his contract expires this summer.

Keiren Westwood has sent a message to Gary Hooper on Twitter after the striker confirmed on social media that he will be leaving Sheffield Wednesday when his contract expires at the end of the season.
After ending the campaign with a 2-1 defeat at home to Queens Park Rangers, the Owls wasted little time putting a statement on their official website confirming that six players will leave Hillsborough with their deals expiring.
Hooper – who scored once in six league appearances this term – is one of the players that Wednesday will be letting go. And following the news, he took to Twitter to post his own message to the supporters.
While the 31-year-old’s spell ended in unspectacular fashion, he did prove to be a good servant for the Owls during his time in Yorkshire, scoring 13 league goals in the campaign in which Wednesday got within touching distance of reaching the Premier League.

And following the statement, Westwood sent a reply in which he paid tribute to his soon to be former teammate…
Despite there being question marks over his own future, it was no surprise that Westwood was not named in the statement following Sunday’s defeat. He has been superb since Steve Bruce brought him back into the team and clearly has plenty to contribute next season.
