Everton are said to be interested in signing Keinan Davis from Aston Villa.

Steve Bruce, Manager of Aston Villa looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Fulham and Aston Villa at Craven Cottage on April 17, 2017 in London, England.

After his brilliant start to life in Aston Villa’s first-team it is hardly a surprise to see Keinan Davis already attracting glances from Premier League clubs, but he should stick where he is.

According to The Sun, Everton, Manchester United and Arsenal have all sent scouts down to watch Davis’ – with a view to making a bid for the striker in January.

Everton, in particular, have shown a willingness to buy from the lower leagues in recent times, and Davis is another player to have come on to their radar.

The 19-year-old has looked hugely impressive since being handed a chance by Steve Bruce, and he now appears to have broken into Villa’s first-team.

Davis has helped Villa win their last three Championship matches, and he has hit the back of the net twice in his last three appearances.

But Davis should not get carried away. He still has a lot of work to do before he becomes the finished article, and the best decision for his development would be to reject any Premier League interest at this time.

Davis is unlikely to play in the first-team at Manchester United and Arsenal regularly at any time soon, and there is little point in moving for him to go back to playing under-21 football.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman gives instructions during the Barclays Premier League match between Hull City and Southampton at the KC Stadium on November 1, 2014 in Hull, England.

At Everton, Davis may hope to play more regularly – but neither Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Ademola Lookman have managed to become permanent starters at Goodison Park, since taking the step up from the lower divisions.

At Villa, though, Davis now has the world at his feet – and he has made himself undroppable for Bruce’s side.

And while Davis is playing regularly, at a club with great ambitions, he should stay put – even if Premier League interest is mounting in him.
