The 19-year-old striker has been one of the stars of the season so far for Aston Villa.
Keinan Davis’ progress at Aston Villa has not gone unnoticed, according to the Daily Star who understand that Manchester United and Arsenal have watched him in action in recent weeks.
The 19-year-old striker has two goals in 14 games for Villa in the Championship this season after being thrown into the first team by Steve Bruce.
While that record is nothing to get excited about, Davis’ energy and powerful hold-up play have helped him become a key player for Villa, and seemingly capture the attention of the Premier League’s elite.
However, Dave Northfield, who managed Davis at Biggleswade FC and remains a trusted councillor to the teenager, has told the Daily Star that there has been no talk of him leaving Villa Park.
“I was up there for a meeting with his agents a few weeks ago, I just sit there and ask him if he’s happy,” Northfield is quoted by the Daily Star as saying. “I don’t think, at this stage at Villa, that he wants to go anywhere. He’s comfortable. I think he’s happy.
“But it’s different if a big club comes in and offers money. He may have no choice in that. He’s not a lad that’s saying: ‘I should be playing for Chelsea or Man Utd’. He’s happy at Villa and loving it there. But you don’t get a choice in that sort of stuff.
“There has been no talk in terms of him going anywhere. If he’s doing great stuff at Villa, he’s going to be linked with a move away.”
Davis, who moved to Villa from non-league Biggleswade in 2015, has recently signed a contract extension with Villa and any move to the Premier League would jeopardise his chances of regular football.
The youngster would also have to start finding the net more regularly for the big boys to take a serious interest, so Villa supporters should feel pretty safe about their chance of hanging onto Davis for the timebeing.
