Villa striker Davis has struggled to overcome a groin problem.

Keinan Davis has provided a huge injury boost to Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce after finally returning to training following a long-standing groin problem that has dogged the attacker’s development.
The 20-year-old attacker, who can play up front, out wide or in behind the striker broke onto the Villa scene last season and clocked up 28 Championship appearances – scoring twice and creating another four goals.
But he failed to feature after mid-March for Villa’s first team, with the muscle problem hampering his progress. He has since played for Villa’s reserve sides and England’s Young Lions, but has failed to regain his place in the side.
But Green has finally returned to training with the first team, as confirmed on his Twitter account, ahead of Saturday’s clash against Sheffield Wednesday at Villa Park.
Davis has work cut out to regain his place back in Bruce’s side, after the promotion expert landed Tammy Abraham on loan from Chelsea to compete with Jonathan Kodjjia and Scott Hogan.
Villa finally ended their winless run of six games by beating Rotherham United 2-0 on Tuesday night thanks to goals from new signings Abraham and Yannick Bolasie, and will be keen to make it two from two on Saturday.
