West Bromwich Albion are looking destined for relegation out of the Premier League this season.

With relegation now looking to be a formality for West Brom, the club’s hierarchy will probably be bracing themselves for a raft of bids for their players coming in from some of their Premier League rivals, as well as those looking to secure promotion out of the Championship.

The Baggies have been woeful for much of the season, but their squad is not terrible by any means. But that almost makes things worse for West Brom as it makes it seem more likely that other clubs will look to land certain players and leave Alan Pardew, or whoever the manager is next season, with a lot of work to do to prepare the squad for life in the second tier.

But while many of their players may be moving on, the Birmingham Mail has recently suggested that it is currently looking possible that Ahmed Hegazi will still be at The Hawthorns next season.

Hegazi arrived on loan during the summer and quickly established himself as a key player for the club. Though some of his performances have been disappointing, he is arguably one of the players who has not disgraced himself this term.

ESPN reported back in November that Liverpool and Leicester City were both keen on Hegazi, but West Brom managed to see off any interest as they made his loan deal permanent.

And for that reason, it would undoubtedly be a huge boost for West Brom if they managed to keep the Egyptian beyond this summer as he is arguably one of their best players and should be one of the best in the Championship next year.

West Brom have not had the chance to celebrate many wins this season – three in the league, to be precise – but keeping Hegazi beyond the summer would definitely be a victory for the Baggies that they desperately need right now.
