Gilberto Silva has told The Mirror that Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus are doing well for Arsenal at the moment, but the Gunners legend has warned that they need to work hard to get into the Brazil national football team for the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar.

Jesus and Martinelli have been superb for Arsenal so far this season, but the two attacking players were left out of Brazil’s recent squad over the international break.

There are now doubts whether former Manchester City striker Jesus and Arsenal forward Martinelli will be part of the Brazil team for the World Cup in Qatar.

Arsenal legend Silva has been impressed by Jesus and Martinelli, but he believes that for his Brazilian compatriots to get to Qatar, they have to keep working hard.

Gilberto said: “There’s many [attackers], we have many. It’s hard work for Tite to choose who’s going to play.

“Jesus is doing great. I think it was good for him to move to Arsenal because he can be one of the main guys.

“Martinelli is [also] doing well. If they are going to get the chance to be in the team for the World Cup, it’s about them – to keep working well.

“They were out from the last game, but it’s about them to keep working.”

Staying optimistic

In our opinion, Arsenal duo Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli should stay optimistic about their chances of playing for Brazil at the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar.

After all, there are enough games in the coming weeks for Jesus and Martinelli to show what they are capable of.

The two Arsenal forwards simply need to continue to play well.
