Glasgow Rangers trio Bruno Alves, Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera have all been linked with moves away from Ibrox.

It has been a turbulent few months for the Scottish Premiership club, so what will the Gers make of the interest in Alves, Pena and Herrera? It remains to be seen whether any will still be at Ibrox once the January window closes, but here is HITC Sport’s verdict on what the Gers should do with the three players…

Bruno Alves
Bruno Alves has not featured too regularly lately due to injury and suspension, but it would arguably be a surprise if he was allowed to leave. The centre-back brings a wealth of experience with him and may surely help the likes of Ross McCrorie and David Bates realise their full potential. He is arguably showing few signs of his age right now, so keeping him for the duration of his contract would surely make sense.
Verdict: Keep

Eduardo Herrera
It has been an extremely difficult first few months for Eduardo Herrera with only the odd glimpse of what he could be capable of shining through thus far. He has been completely overshadowed by Alfredo Morelos, and that is despite Morelos going through a lengthy goal drought earlier in the season. So while it may seem like a good idea to sell if a decent bid comes in, it is surely fair to say that Rangers do not have the depth up front to sell one player without replacing him, so letting Herrera leave should only get the green light if a replacement is waiting in the wings.
Verdict: Sell (As long as a replacement is lined up)
Carlos Pena
The most challenging decision of the three will arguably be deciding what to do with Carlos Pena. At his best, Pena looks a brilliant player, but he can also be the most frustrating player on the pitch who can go missing for large parts of games. If Rangers receive a significant bid for the Mexican, it may well be tempting to let him move on, but perhaps the Gers hierarchy should gamble on the possibility that there is more to come from Pena.
Verdict: Keep (Unless stunning bid comes in)
